INDIVIDUAL EYELASH EXTENSIONS
What Are Individual
Lash Extensions are an exciting, new product and technique for thicker, longer, yet natural looking eyelashes. Eyelashes are made thicker and longer through professional application of individual eyelash onto your own natural eyelash with a specially formulated bonding agent. Lash extensions are not strip lashes or three pronged, cluster lashes. They are individual, hairs that look just like your own natural lash hairs. True eyelash extensions take approximately 2 hours to apply a first time, full set.
What do I need to do before my appointment?
Remove all eye makeup; be sure not to use oil based makeup removers or cleansers to clean your lashes prior to the application. Do not curl your lashes. If your natural lashes are very light, a lash tint prior to application is strongly recommended. Your new lashes will appear much fuller if your own light lashes have been tinted prior.Plan to set aside about 2 hours for your appointment. Don't worry! You will be comfortably lying down on a "comfy", massage table with a bolster under your knees!
How long will they last?
They will last up to 4-8 weeks depending on how well you take care of them and also depending on your own lashes natural growth cycle. If you are like most of our clients, once you have them applied, you will become addicted and want to wear them all the time! In order to keep your lash extensions full and looking great, simple maintenance or "fill" appointments are needed typically every 2-3 weeks. They are necessary because, like your fingernails and the hair on your head, your individual eyelashes grow out on a continuous cycle of replenishment. As your eyelashes that are at the end of their growth cycle shed, it is necessary to apply some new extensions to maintain the fullness of your set. You can come as often as you like for retouches!
How do I take care of my new lashes?
It is not difficult to care for you new lashes. You will be given "after care" instructions before you leave your first appointment. Do not rub your eyes excessively when you clean them. Avoid any oil based cleansers, lotions or make-up removers. Use only gel based cleansers and/or oil free eye makeup remover to remove makeup and cleanse your lashes. Gently pat dry if necessary. Cotton or Q-tips for cleaning is not recommended as cotton remnants will get caught in your lashes. Do not get lash extensions wet for 48 hours. Occasional short visits to the sauna or steam room is fine, however daily or extensive exposure to steam may cause the bonding agent to loosen. If this happens, you may require a re-touch to correct any lashes that may have fallen off or tilted in direction.
